Here is the thing, nobody actually has to pay it. Our Newegg refresh this run found an ASRock RX 7900 XTX at $929.99 new, a $469 gap against Amazon for the exact same GPU. On eBay, a used XFX MERC 310 Black Edition is sitting at $799.99 Buy It Now. Same silicon, same 24GB of GDDR6, three storefronts, a $600 spread. If you have been waiting on a 7900 XTX for the VRAM, buy it anywhere but Amazon today.

Or skip the drama entirely. The RX 9070 XT held steady at $739.99 on Amazon, in stock, with a 4.6 star average across 453 ratings. That is barely more than half of the 7900 XTX’s Amazon ask for AMD’s current generation. You trade 24GB of VRAM for 16GB, and RDNA 4 gives you better ray tracing in return. Put them side by side before you let a stock squeeze talk you into last-gen pricing.
